Like Crazy & Blue Valentine

I just saw the lovely film Like Crazy. This story is about a British student who falls in love with an American man and the hardships of dealing with a long distance relationship. I found it to be beautifully raw and genuinely painful. The performances from the two main characters are phenomenal.

 

A similar film is Blue Valentine starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. This is a story about two people dealing with marriage. The film lets us see how they they fell in love and how they are trying to work things out.  I like that both of these films are not corrupted by Hollywood fluff and we get to see how hard relationships can really be.
